Newman School is at the forefront of careers education. Throughout their time at Newman students will have at least 2 individual careers interviews and participate in many enterprise and careers activities. We have high aspirations for all of our students and aim to ensure that they all select the correct pathways for a successful future. National Careers Service

This is an excellent site which will help plan your child’s life long learning and career planning. Information is available on all careers including pathways, qualifications and advice on career opportunities in the local area. They also offer a free call back service so you can speak to a trained advisor. Students are encouraged to create an account which they can then use throughout their career.

First-line advice on drugs, alcohol and sexual health DASH provides free confidential advice and individual support packages. The service is available to young people and their families throughout Cumbria.

Art Locates Me

Digital art and media by young people in Cumbria. Learn new skills in photography, video, VJing, animation, graphics, web and mobile technologies, music and sound. Work alongside fabulous local artists, and produce some fantastic work of your own.

Youth Work

Meet new people, develop new skills. We work with local youth groups in nearly all areas of Cumbria, delivering fun, challenging, rewarding group activities in the evenings and at weekends designed to motivate and engage young people.

Wheels 2 Work

Get mobile…get on in work and learning. Wheels 2 Work offers young people a managed scooter loan, complete with safety equipment and training so that they can get to work, school or college.
