Well done to the group of Year 8 boys who represented the school in a Carlisle schools hardball cricket competition on Friday. In soaring temperatures the boys played four games against other schools and although they lost the first three, what was pleasing was a significant improvement in batting, bowling and fielding skills as they became far more competitive. After narrowly losing to Central Academy the boys then finished the day with a convincing victory over Limehouse with Tyler Johnson Graham and Aleks Gorecki starring with the bat and some excellent bowling which restricted the opposing team to a low score. The boys showed a fantastic attitude and effort and it was an extremely enjoyable day for all. Mr Irving, Head of PE
