KS3 Student of the Month for October was for acting on feedback. Congratulation to our winners who were awarded earlier this week in assembly.

Congratulations to 7ECN on becoming Spanglovision Champions 2019 with their wonderful rendition of Toy Story's 'Hay un amigo en mi' (You've got a friend in me). Well done to all the form groups and tutors who took part and thank you to all the students and teachers that voted.

Congratulations to our KS3 students, Jessica, Emily and Abigail, the winning team in the Rotary Club Youth Speaks intermediate competition. They will now go through to the next round of the competition. Miss Nelson, English Department. 

​The Year 7's have been practising their `disney themed' Spanglovision songs over the past few weeks and the final versions have been played in assembles all week. The staff and students have been voting for their winner and the votes will be counted and a winner announced after half term! Well done to 7ECN, CMM and ERL.

The first round of the Annual Rotary Club Youth Speaks competition will take place on Wednesday 16 October 2019.  We are entering 2 teams into the competition this year.

Our new school site is well underway. Some of our students and Headteacher have been accompanying local primary school students along to visit the new site.

The PE department held a Sports Awards Evening last week recognising the efforts of students in Core PE, after school practices and inter school fixtures and events. On Wednesday 10 July the Year 10's took part in a Preparing for Work Day.  As part of the day's events students had a ten minute interview with an employer and spend time working on writing CV's and planning next steps.  

The Vatican announced on Monday that Blessed Cardinal John Henry Newman will be canonized on October 13 in Rome. Miss Nichol and the school gardening club releasing the butterflies. It has been such a lovely project for the students to be involved with over the past few weeks watching the caterpillars turn into butterflies.

In our last school week we are learning about goodness and patience, two fruits of the Holy Spirit, through the fun example of Batman. We will see that both of these fruits should inform the way that we act, and the importance of being patient with those around us and to do good acts for them.
